The Making of Christmas Pretzel Candy

Ready for an easy holiday treat?  Follow these simple instructions for how to make Christmas Pretzel Candy.  (Helpful hint, make these year round with any color combos of M&Ms! Yum!)

To start, you will need at least a half a bag of mini pretzel twists. (You can also use small pretzel squares if you can find them in your local grocery.) Candy ingredients are plain milk chocolate M&Ms and Hershey’s Hugs (special note – milk chocolate kisses do not melt the same way).

Place the pretzels on aluminum foil on a cookie sheet. Make sure all of them are flat and not overlapping. Set your ovens to 325 degrees and let pre-heat while you prep the candy before melting.

Place the M&Ms in one bowl and unwrap all of the Hugs for another bowl (this will make prep faster and easier).  Place the hugs evenly centered on each pretzel.  When the oven is ready, place the cookie sheet on the top shelf for NO MORE THAN 2 MINUTES. The Hugs melt very quickly!

As soon as you pull the tray out of the oven, place the cookie sheet onto a cooling rack (to avoid additional heat and too much melting) and place the M&Ms on the center of each melted Hug.

Once all candies are in position, place the cookie sheet on the top shelf of your refrigerator and let the melted chocolate harden. (You can leave this in the cold for however long you see fit). Once the candy feels like its original consistency, take out of the fridge and place into the desired serving container.  I put mine if a fun plastic tub from Target to take to the office to share for this holiday season. (Also great for festive parties in glass bowls and on seasonal trays.)

Take a few bites and ENJOY!!!

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
